Happy Hands Playgroup
A welcoming and inclusive playgroup for Deaf families and children with hearing loss
Happy Hands Playgroup has been running since 2018, offering a friendly and supportive space for:• Deaf parents• Parents of Deaf children• Families with children who have any level of hearing lossCODAs and siblings are always welcome.Our sessions are relaxed, inclusive, and led by Deaf parents who understand the needs of Deaf children and families.
When & Where
📅 Fridays (term time only)⏰ 9:30am – 12:00pmHappy Hands sessions are run by the Happy Hands Committee, made up of Deaf parents.
Who Can Attend
Happy Hands is suitable for:
• Children from birth up to school age
• Young people during school holidays
Families are welcome to attend together, and new members are always encouraged to join.
What Happens at Happy Hands
Each session provides a safe, relaxed, and friendly environment where children and families can enjoy a range of activities, including:• Free play and structured play activities• Arts and crafts• Games• Visiting guests and themed sessions• Small celebrations and partiesSessions support social interaction, creativity, and communication in a welcoming setting.
Special Events & Activities
Throughout the year, Happy Hands runs fun themed sessions and seasonal events, including:• ❤️ Valentine’s Day• 🐣 Easter• 🌞 Summer fun sessions• 🎃 Halloween• 🎄 ChristmasWe also usually organise a family day trip in August during the school holidays.
